Auditions for a new Forum Theatre company

Forum Theatre: "Discrimination in America"


Audition Dates: August 7 & 8: 7:00pm to 9:30pm, August 11: 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Callbacks: August 18th 2:30pm to 4:30pm and August 19th 4:00pm to 6:30pm


Mexico’s awarded theatre director, David Psalmon, will be coming to Chicago to open, alongside The Performing Arts Studio, a Forum Theatre Company that will be devising two theatre shows per year and taking them to different spaces in the city from schools to prisons and showing its work to different oppressed communities. 

We are looking to cast 12 actors, 5 playwrights and 3 stage managers to start the company’s ensemble.


Commitment dates: 

-September 10th to September 15th from 10am to 3pm: Training and Devising Process

-8 rehearsals will be scheduled according to actors' availability to stage the show once playwrights finish devising the play 

-Shows will be in the mornings/afternoons and will be scheduled at least a month in advance depending on actor’s availability. 



Actors of all ethnicities and genders are encouraged to submit. 

Characters will be devised from actors’ experiences. 

Improv skills are a plus


Material to prepare:

Two contemporary contrasting monologues (1-2 minutes each)
